  • xj dana 44 disc brake conversion

2010-10-4u2002·u2002The bolt pattern in the XJ 44 axle flange is different so in addition to opening up the center hole, two holes need to be redrilled and the top two oblonged. A weld on bracket is pretty simple, put rotors on it, mount caliper to bracket, put caliper over rotor, shoot some air into the caliper to clamp it to the rotor and weld on the bracket.

  • Ford 8.8' Rear Disc Brake Conversion on 1986 Jeep CJ7

2013-7-9u2002·u2002I recently added Ford 8.8 rear discs to the Dana 44 rear. I had to have the bolt pattern redrilled to 5 on 5 1/2 and cut out the middle hole bigger for the flange. I had to elongate the mounting holes and bracket holes, mounted everything up and discovered the rotors set out 1/4' too far on the hat of the rotor.

2004-7-12u2002·u2002Going from 5x4.5 to 6x5.5 to match the bolt pattern of my Waggy 44 front. Should I be able to redrill these? I know you cannot make wheels that incorporate both these bolt patterns, and in that case the rotors would have the same problem. This will be on an 8.8 with custom alloy shafts. If I can't redrill these, I'll need new rotors. Toys have the same 6-lug bolt pattern but I know a lot of ...

2011-3-13u2002·u2002Another possible issue is the gearing in the 8.8 you'll either have to change the gearing in it or your front axle.So really when you look at what it all ends up costing it would be cheaper to just swap the brakes over to the bronco axle. 73 Ranger 2 1/2 lift 302 TFS heads NP435,PS,PDB, tierod over, 33x10.50x15 BFG M/T.
